I'm beginning my career in IT and Cybersecurity after 15 rewarding years in media production. While I've always had an interest in technology, I was motivated to make the switch after multiple loved ones fell victim to cyber attacks and scams in unrelated events. I'm currently wrapping up my A.A.S. in Network Administration & Cybersecurity at Lake Superior College, with an expected graduation of Spring 2024. Immersing myself in the IT field has been a joy, and thanks to my great teachers I've grasped the material well enough to earn a spot on the Dean’s List for five semesters.

Over the course of my education, I have gained foundational knowledge in basic networking, client and network administration, firewalls, A+ Core concepts, help desk best practices, and a good deal of cybersecurity principles and methods. I'm proficient with Linux, MacOS and Windows operating systems, with hands on experience using cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform. I'm also active on the Hack the Box platform to hone my skills in penetration testing and further my understanding of vulnerability management.

In addition to attending LSC, I work full time for a medical technology company leading the Media Production department. I am responsible for creating media that connects clients with their audiences, primarily medical systems and their patients. I manage the department's media storage and backups on-premises and through AWS, in coordination with the engineering department. My background includes Emmy award-winning video production work through contributions to local film festivals, television news production and commercial ad work. I'm also a capable graphic designer with experience in 2D/3D animation and web design.

 

My goal is to build a career and make an impact in IT & Cybersecurity by helping protect sensitive data and systems on behalf of the businesses and people who rely on them.
